I’m Rachel, the Existitchialist.
I’m an embroiderer, cross-stitcher, sewist, quilter, writer, philosophically tortured creative type who teaches college English in order to buy floss and other crafting supplies.
I live in the Midwest USA with my boyfriend Pritts, a bearded philosopher chef computer coder, and my 8 yr-old son Eliot, avid Minecrafter, bicyclist, and chapter book reader.
I’ve been crafting all my life, but my fascination with embroidery started in 2005 when my sister enlisted me and our other siblings to contribute to a quilt she was making for our mom. The quilt featured a family tree, and we each embroidered our name onto a leaf. That project spawned two realizations for me: 1) I love working with a needle and thread, 2) I need to wear glasses.
Existitchialism is my little corner of the Internet, where I share my stitching, muse about life and philosophy, and get my nerd on. Welcome!
